World shares held close to record highs on Wednesday thanks to new all-time peaks in Europe and on Wall Street, as investors bet hotter-than-expected U.S. inflation won’t stop the Federal Reserve and other central banks from cutting interest rates.
The U.S. dollar steadied on Wednesday, retaining a bulk of its overnight gains after strong consumer inflation data furthered bets on higher-for-longer rates, while the British pound tread water before key GDP data.
Oil rose on Wednesday, supported by signs of strong global demand including from top consumer the United States while hopes that the Federal Reserve might start cutting rates soon also buoyed sentiment despite somewhat sticky U.S. inflation.
Litecoin was trading at $93.815 by 13:21 (17:21 GMT) on the Investing.com Index on Tuesday, down 10.54% on the day. It was the largest one-day percentage loss since January 3.
